This model replaced the earlier Wolseley pattern helmet in 1938.
The example appears unworn, with the manufacturer's label intact and no staining. Made by the Peninsular MFG Hat Co. of Calcutta and dated 1940.
Winston Churchill wore this model of pith hat during visits to the Middle East.
